I haven't flown with anyone at Alaska that hasn't looked out in disgust when a 175 with an Eskimo on the tail comes strolling by. Not sure what else Alaska pilots could have done. Every mainline has the 175 flown by a regional. Delta/Shuttle, American/Republic, and so on.

Those jets should be mainline airplanes. Not the fault of Skywest, Horizon, or Alaska pilots for that matter. It's a management ordeal. So no sense in bickering with each other on it.

The terrible situation they have put us in is that not only are future EMB's not going to mainline they are putting Horizon in a concessionary position to get them. It's the decision of the Horizon pilots to make, but no doubt if the CBA is turned down and those additional jets actually end up at Skywest it will be managements fault/greed that Horizon pilots are not flying them. Or mainline for that matter. All this to save a couple bucks.

I say call managements bluff. But defiantly not my decision to make.
