Let this serve as an example of just how delusional Maurice really is. The comment is far from discrete and so thinly veiled, that Maury only further embarrasses himself and the rest of us.
The whole point to the mechanic's exposé was such that he didn't need to spend anymore time with Allegiant to determine that he wasn't working with safety professionals- and wanted nothing to do with it.
More importantly, did the Tampa Bay Times represent the mechanic as an expert?
No.
Only that he hadn't, in his 35 years of experience, ever seen anything quite like Allegiant's safety culture.
What Maury DID do, as is SOP for him, is bring it back around to the Teamsters again, the same way he has with us as an employee group and the same way he has historically done with investors and the press.
Also, did you notice how quick Maury was to throw former NTSB investigator Bob Goglia under the bus. Goglia was an integral part of the Valu-Jet accident investigation, and like many of us, has observed how eerily similar Allegiant's corporate culture was to Valu-Jet's.
So while he's busy drafting letters to the editor and expressing just how wrong everyone has gotten it, do you really think he's serious about reaching a contract deal with us?
Give us a break, Maury. Give us ALL a break.
