The only time I ever called in fatigue was after a 17 hour cattle-class flight from PVG-JFK. Was supposed to continue to MIA, but I pulled the plug in Kennedy.

"But... You're deadheading!"

I'm not familiar with your work rules.. How can you deadhead for 17 hours and then go right into flying?
