If you search back through some of the other threads on APC regarding EB, he's made some cringe-worthy public comments regarding his disdain for the pilot group. If I were a DAL poolie right now, I'd be a bit nervous about that option. Take a look at our current fleet and future fleet plans compared to the other legacies, then look at our outsourcing of premium international flying. Couple those things with what is shaping up to be a very adversarial relationship with management and that should give you an idea where we seem to be headed. I hope I'm proven wrong, but do think very carefully about your options if you're in the pool.
I agree with you. I had a choice when I was hired and picked DAL, if I was in the same position but with today's circumstances and knowing what I know now, I'd pick UAL. All this really goes to show is how cyclic the industry is and it would take somebody one hell of a lot smarter than me to truly make an educated decision when they're hired about which airline they should choose.
