Wondering if anyone minds sharing what kind of deduction you are getting from per diem. I know you can take 80% of the difference but I just started at UA in September and would have to manually go through all my layovers from last job from last year. I know there are people who will calculate if for you but since I don't have access to my old employer's computer system I would have to try to get a report from them or do it all from my pilot logbook. Just trying to ballpark if it's worth the time and effort....

I fly all international... So probably a lot higher than normal... the difference for me was 8500 from what PD I was paid against the IRS allowance... So 8500 less 80% is deductable. I'm AMT so didn't help me for Fed taxes but since your new probably will help substantially... Especially with your prior jobs PD.
