Ridiculous. Why make commuting for anyone harder than it needs to be? Like it was said before, new hires need guidance, your time and effort is better spent to educate (chances are this is their first 121 job). New hires aren't the problem, the real problem are the people who voted YES for our last failed TA. I remember people ranting how they were going to deny a JS for people who voted yes... I want to know where that list is.
It was mostly union guys, some training dept guys, and senior company guys like KA who voted yes...probably guys who don't commute or ever have a need to ride in the JS. Ironic, all the A listers I talked to about the contract were yes voters. Neither list seems to get much attention though. Although an AA (LUS) CA looked in his scab book at the A list to make sure I wasn't on it when I JS once, so I guess some care.
