True. But it means they have to go back to square one (hiring) to fill that slot. Going back to square one isn't the hard part, it's the fact that they've lost time, ie, they now don't have a name matched to an airframe.

do have all of us in the pool to reach out and grab, so I guess no airframes will go without a pilot to fill a turned down/rejected slot.

I'm sure management knows exactly how much it costs in $$ to interview, hire, and then lose a poolie. That is the limit of their care.
