I just texted a fraternity brother of mine who's with United to see if they still have the same reserve system he described to me years ago. If so, it's far superior to ours, and yet another reason why we shouldn't be giving anything away.
I'm quite certain their reserve is considerably worse than ours. I have friends currently living it and it was one of the main reasons to vote no on their extension. The phrase "if we aren't going to fix reserve now then when?" Sums it up. I know they have airport standby reserve. Airport standby reserve makes me think I'm at a regional airline but I digress...
I'm not saying there isn't some aspect of their reserve system that isn't better but there is no way you could say theirs is better overall. Just saying...
