I just retired from the military and we moved to Atlanta (Cumming) for my job with Delta. I always thought with TRICARE your only choice was Standard unless you live by a military base then you could do Prime. However, if you don't live by a base (not sure of the exact milage) then you can get on Prime. I was able to pick any doctor I wanted that accepts TRICARE. I see that doctor for all of my medical needs. If I need something that he can't handle then they do the referral. I can change my primary care physician at any time if I am not happy. Cost wise is great too, I pay $565.20 per year and they break it down monthly so $47.10 per month is taken out of my retirement pay check.
