Make sure that when you go to ATP you get a good instructor and I think that will make all the difference. Keep in mind ATP is part 61 so all the instructor really has to do is show up for flights while you're suppose to teach yourself. So if you can find an instructor that comes on time, stays the full 8 hours, does regular ground training, and pushes you, you'll be fine. I'm actually trying to get over to ATP Pheonix to instruct, when are you heading over?
I wont be there until next summer...you might be already on your way to a regional job by the time I get there. I met a handful of guys from Hawaii over there...you should feel right at home. Do you already have your degree? I wish you the best of luck.
