I said nothing about a merger. The rumors are that DAL will purchase another carrier in 3 to 4 years, say NWA or Alaska. A move like this will help fill in DAL's western flying. They could start new operations but why; they have the money, both airlines already have customer where DAL would have to go through growing pains and both airlines are relatively cheap.
It's just "Hear Say," nothing is final until their on property! After all it's one of the 4 things we as pilots do on a professional level:
1. Fly A/C
2. B1tch
3. Gossip
4. Drink
