Part of the FOM it talks about whom the FOM is applicable to and what sections. For example, the grooming standards dictate no goatee. However, a Fed can have a goatee because that regulation is not applicable to them.
The uniform standards have no weight with the FAA. However, if asked by one of our caring CPO's to remove the lanyard, I probably would... Only to be donned for the next trip after union council.
