Correct...EXCEPT...a same day GS--unlike a WS--is NOT a proffer. Greenslips have always had some sort of vagueness about them that I have never liked. The bottom line is this. If you have a GS request in and the company contacts you...AND...you are completely legal to fly the GS, both contractually and FAR-wise (i.e. you haven't drank any alcohol etc) then you must fly it. Even then it is a bit "nebulous" if you throw in lack of childcare, etc. ALPA has put out bulletins in the past addressing all this. I have actually petitioned the reps to make GS acknowledgement the same as WS, but apparently that is not a huge priority in the big scheme of things.

You are incorrect in this statement. The PWA specifically states that you must be notified AND acknowledge the GS in order for you to have to fly it. Big difference from what you wrote. What guys have been saying is correct. They can leave the blanket GS in and take a peek at what is offered and if they don't like what they see behind the curtain they can just do nothing and it will go to the next guy. As long as you don't answer your phone or put your password in the box that pops up in DBMS then you don't own the trip.
