Accepting a plane that's had a deferred auto pilot for two days on a iah-msp turn. I mean really? Yes, i can hand fly a plane for 5.5 hours but why? Is it legal? Sure. Is it safe? ....
Biggest pet peeve: You've been running behind all day, and in a effort to make up time you make the flight attendants stay on the plane after not eating all day. Sure, the f/o can make a food run. However some captains elect to board asap, not allowing the f/a's to take 5 minutes to eat.
As far as pilots running in terminals? You look stupid. And it's the concept that if they want to schedule a 30 minute sit with a plane swap in a different terminal, you shouldn't rush. I've never seen a mainline pilot run through a terminal.
One time on day 6 on ready reserve with 45 minutes left of my reserve period i called to see if i could get released early to catch the last flight home. Of course they wouldn't allow it, even though there were 3 other f/o's available for reserve. Point is: Sure, the company doesn't have to pull favors for me, but i don't need to fly a plane with no auto pilot for 5.5 hours, or run through the terminal like a mad man trying to make up time.
