Well, it's kind of tough to have that kind of politically correct, "safe space" touchy-feely conversation with a new hire FO who:
a) is running, and/or
b) doesn't have the linguistic toolkit to comprehend what you're trying to explain
If your FO forgets to retract the flaps on takeoff, do you have a little sit-down kumbaya chat with them about it?
If they're high as heck on the glideslope or veering off the centerline, do you say "hey, um, New Guy...I want you to feel comfortable and happy, but could we talk about the fact you're full-scale deviation on the, uh, glideslope?"
You have to be blunt with lots of things in this profession--telling new hires not to run in airports is one of those things.
