Mainline can always afford to be selective, this will never change. Hopefully affirmative action goes away, people are selected purely on merit, and pilots hire pilots again.

Either way, you are going to want to stand out from the crowd to get selected.
Yeah I think the days of qualification and skill trumping gender or race are over... sadly. But I'm just curious if some thing the college degree will go too at the mainline... doesn't seem like it has yet.
