I'm not so sure about that... There are a ton of flights on mainline and various regionals in and out of JAX about every 30 mins to an hour. All loads are usually full. I think with the right vacation destinations, an Allegiant base would do well. And they have heavy Mx on site.
Not that I care whether ALG opens a base in JAX or not, but isn't the heavy MX is done over at NZC (old Cecil Field about 15 miles away), which would be a bit more than a taxi from JAX.
