Not quite... The guy is one of the most humble and stand up individuals I have ever met. He worked very hard to expand himself within the airline profession right of the bat. Add in some good networking and a little bit of luck, now he gets to look forward to being number 1 at United for probably 7-10 years of his career.
But how could a 24 year old civilian pilot possibly be qualified to fly for a major When thousands of other pilots with much better resumes are told they don't have the experience. I am sure his passengers will feel very comfortable knowing their pilot got the job because he was in with the head of HR.
