Capt Mark-
This is a public forum. Excuse me for my depth of explanation of our leverage. You are a Capt (apparently by screen name) of a major airline. You know the duties and responsibilities you have. I believe we always have leverage, but grant you that sometimes we have more than others.
Consider the words of BC in the latest negotiation update with regard to pairing construction:
"Register your complaints with your Block reps and demand demonstrative action. If things don’t get better quickly we should reconsider our participation in the SIG and PSIT as well as other alternatives that might present themselves."
Well, which is it? Do we settle for what the company does or do we do as BC suggests? How can we have an effect on pairing construction but not on the living expenses of an FDA?
