Got another invite to test after the fair (pretty sure everyone who attended and was qualified got one) Passed the test with a 100% (no kidding..it's not that bad)
Call never came. Interviews came and went. My friend on the inside has been pulling for me....but still crickets after 2 months. I'm a military heavy guy with immediate availability and about the standard hours a mil guy gets hired with. I met people at the fair that were both impressively more qualified than me military and civilian.....and far less qualified that were all subsequently hired.
If I were you I'd use my fast pass and hard earned dollars to talk to other carriers present at the fair....just my opinion. As for me, I'm still hoping for a call and will attempt contact at appropriate intervals and see what becomes of it.
And before I get burned at the steak by the same 6 or 7 folks on here for wanting to work for Atlas... A military guy that is off active duty, keeping current part time (and paid part time) at a reserve unit with a wife and kids needs a ******* JOB. I have blanketed the earth with resumes and applications. I've read every single page of this thread and I know the problems and the uncertainty of what lies ahead. Familiar with the schedule, familiar with the type of flying. God help me, I really enjoy it. Please, no speeches.
Several things going on here that stand out and are glaring bright lights against you:
A) 100% is not exactly a good thing. There is only one way (well two, but we are pilots, so we know that none of us is that smart) to get 100%. You had the gouge. 100% is generally not a good score to have. Personally I think it's great. It shows initiative, desire, and CRM (you used all resources).
B) Atlas is worried that they will invest the money to train you and you will split for Delta/UAL/FedEX/SWA. They know how marketable you are to the majors.
I'm not trying to bust your chops, this is just how it is my friend. You need to convince them that you aren't going to take your highly qualified self and run off to a major ASAP. They need to know they are hiring you because you're going to stay here, not because you simply need a ****ing job right now.
Keep after it if you really want it. In the meantime, reach out to your military buddies for connections at the majors. Atlas will still be here if you want to leave a legacy carrier to come here. That would really prove to Atlas that you want to be here (come from a legacy/major to Atlas). It would also prove to us that you really did cheat your backside off to get 100%, because doing what I said would prove you are really dumb! ;-P
