Guys, this is not hard to figure out. There's a bunch of airplanes sitting around republic is paying for but not operating. Those airplanes are gone. Anything that is not an ERJ is gone. Delta is gone. Contracts with majors are going to have to pay a little more to the Republic, if the major is not on board, the contract will be voided. It only makes sense for republic to fly the largest airplanes possible with its limited pilot supply.
Current pilots are in no danger of anything right now. But this is not going to stop whats coming, no contract airline is immune from what's coming. There is simply not enough pilots to fill the retirement void at the majors in five years.
Five years from now, if republic does not become the competition, they are gone. Republic and Skywest will fall before the wholly owned carriers whos parent airline can just dump money into at will, nothing more than a cost center.
