As a FA who uses jetBlue to commute as a non-rev, and is very appreciative for the ride, I always help tidy up the cabin after a flight. I've yet to be on a flight where I was the ONLY non-rev so there are always a lot of helping hands. That said, I cringe when I see pilots putting on the blue gloves and pitching in. There is no reason for them to do it and as others have said, they have better things to do, even if it's just running to the concourse to grab food/drinks for the crew.

Love me some jetBlue, BUT think their pilots shouldn't be asked to help out with this task, EVER.

If you want the respect of your FAs or the other pilot, you do it by being safe, professional, having a friendly demeanor with basic manners and not embarrassing the rest of your crew by your appearance or personality! Oh, and ALWAYS back them up.....
