Check out which carriers accept opposite sex domestic partners before you jump through all the hoops. Many specify DP's must be same sex.
EDIT: just checked the big 3 and they all allow opposite sex domestic partners
Thanks for checking. Note: I was able to find a Domestic Partner form on the internal website requiring 3 of 7 forms of proof.
