The last classes (dec/jan/feb) had between 15-20 new hires in average. keep in mind the limited available space on the sims at FS and the amount of transfers from the Qs and 145s that RAH needs to get through class too. they are juggling with sim availability, new hires and transfers. one of the March classes is supposed to be transfers only.
Classes still look good for the next 2-3 months, on paper. of course people are going to get scared away, especially those who do not comprehend the complexity of the Ch 11 filing and those who base their life's future on comments read on Internet forums.
Attrition slowed down post-contract. Off the 30ish guys who left in Jan most went for Spirit, Frontiers, SWA or the majors, one left the industry.
Things were moving in the right direction. Now the best way to make the kill shot is to chase all pilots away and frighten new hires. The company is in this situation due to lack of pilots (because it was ****ty, because like all other regionals, management treated pilots like **** and wanted to pay FOs less than an assistant-manager at Wendy's), having none will surely send it to the gutters.
