I also find it precious that some think that they can walk in off the street and be sent to pilot training without serving a day in a nonflying Guard/Reserve job. Sure, there are some units that fill their pilot training allocation that way but most Guard/Reserve pilot training slots are filled by people who are already in the unit in a nonflying capacity. It's called networking.

Military flight time is the
de facto differentiator between a potential candidate getting a call or sitting on the sidelines waiting for a call.
There are plenty of "non-flying" veterans out there with years of service who's phones aren't ringing, while military
pilots are getting
multiple CJO's left and right and are stuck trying to decide whether they want to go to Delta, FedEx or American.
Your assertation that military experience in general, and not military flight experience
specifically, is the deciding factor, is as laughable as your attempt to prove "slots" doesn't really mean what we all know it to mean.
