Update: OK wikipedia says yes they still exist. But maybe I got the company wrong, the one I was talking about was Bonanzas and Barons. You had to fly a Bonanza for 6-12 months then "move into" or "promote into" the Baron.
Sounds like GTA Air. No idea if they're still around and I never worked there.
