For whatever reason mgmt has decided it isn't economically required and it's better to let people linger at home for a month here and there... But that doesn't mean things can't change when needed.
Rainbows and unicorns. The company continues to dumb down the process, looking to make things merely good enough rather than training people to the appropriate level. They just lost their two best -80 ground instructors, one quitting due to the lack of integrity shown in that department, the other was apparently left to die on the vine, they never even demonstrated enough common courtesy of telling him they didn't need him any longer. They had to type a bunch of -80 guys, FOs who hadn't typed when they first showed up. They had no syllabus...lied to the FOs about what the training was going to be like, the sim instructors didn't have a clue what was happening and several people bought pink slips, for no better reason than they refuse to do more than the minimum "required"...there will be no change because of who is running the show. Penny wise and pound foolish...
