Since trying to convince/arm twist them did not bare any fruit. It would be funny if this was a ploy by RAH. To get the leasing companies and mainline carriers to cancel bad leases and renegotiate the contracts. Basically work with us or we are all screwed. Republic could ask the court to dismiss the BK because they resolved their issues with creditors. ETC. Less
What if the BK judge forced them to liquidate the 175s they own in order to cover the debts. This liquidation on the shuttle side alone would cover the remaining terms on the leases for the 145s and Q400s. Why would the creditors not demand this?
Republic just put a bankruptcy judge in the driver's seat. This judge does not necessarily care about BBs promises to the pilots or even the future of the company. It is the judges job make sure the creditors get what they are owed within reason.
I'm not saying this is what is going to happen. It is just some food for thought.
