The key to the airline industry is to get as much as you can when the time is good, and fight like hell to keep it when times are bad.
Right now, times are good, and regionals should be grabbing every improvement that they can. It can all change tomorrow. The market could crash, there could be another terrorist attack, or the 1500 hour could get repealed.
You may have a tiny amount of leverage right now, but it could be slipping away without you knowing it. When someone offers you something for nothing, take it. Don't be stupid. There were no concessions.
