As far as the merger - it was never about building a bigger, better airline. It was about extracting as much cash from old United for the shareholders as possible. The gambit continues with OM taking over to act as the savior of what JS created. You have to ask why they gave the pilots a little pay raise and at the same time continue fighting the other employee groups tooth and nail. The unfortunate thing is the pilots fell for it and continue to sing the praises of a man who's done nothing of substance for the company.
