The RLA is holding back them talking to each other? I think not.
The only thing holding them back is lack of national leadership.
they aren't ONE union and the must represent THEIR pilots interests only and put them ahead of the other carriers.. That is how it works and it's dysfunctional as hell, but it is what we're straddled with under the RLA. There is no national pilots' union, we can't strike the way other unions in non-transporation fields can, and we have no muscle in DC like the larger and more traditional unions.
