If your goal is to make it to a legacy carrier then you need to take the first upgrade you can get. I understand the argument against it due to the seniority dynamics we have here, but take it ASAP, deal with the commute/crash pad/RSV and do your damnedest to get to a legacy, a year (or less) of Hell will be worth the 25+ year career at a legacy.
