I have to disagree with this 10 fold. I don't have social media anymore... I am going to say this... The internet isn't the truth, sorry.. Smiling selfies mean nothing... I will say this, the kid may be enjoying life from what we can see from a few Instagram pictures. But theirs a bigger rooted problem that not a single person has addressed. And I hope that people actually put some thought into it.
There's very few mainline guys snapping selfies of themselves and other crew members in the front of the cockpit of their 777. Go ahead and say it's a generation thing... If you think it's a generation thing, it's because maybe their is a little more thought that goes into saying "maybe I should post this for the world to see".... But here's the truth, what's going to happen when something happens; runway incursion, wrong departure, bent metal, wrong runway numbers. All because 5 minutes before departure someone was focused on their hair and selfie vs. their job. Let's all be honest. It's going to happen enventally. Bent metal, accident investigators will find out that 3 minutes before push back the captain was loading an Instagram picture and then flew of a wrong runway, bent metal and incident/accident.
The kids a LCA, I would hope someone would put a stop to it.
What happened to professionalism?
