We can't blame the takeover group or GB for taking the action they have. We've been without anybody running the store, even with OM trying from the sick bed. Where was the BOD? OM had more than a hangnail and the BOD should have acted swiftly for a replacement instead of the TEMP. The current Board and OM put United in play.
Not in the way you insinuate. Maybe the opening was caused by Oscar's inability to consolidate his 'power' while absent? The idea that nobody as been "running the store" is pure bs. Given the circumstances, Munoz and Hart have actually done a good job of pushing a new direction.
I DO blame Bethune and his hedge fund backers for this predatory attempt to rape UAL of its cash. Being as cynical as I am due to my 19 years at UAL I'm no fanboy of Munoz, but I'll bet my career that his strategic plans and vision for UAL are far better than these vultures will have. They want to extract as much cash as possible, as soon as possible, and will bail out if they overreach and we go south. Something about the goose and golden egg.....but they have a winning exit plan to boot.
