I DO blame Bethune and his hedge fund backers for this predatory attempt to rape UAL of its cash. Being as cynical as I am due to my 19 years at UAL I'm no fanboy of Munoz, but I'll bet my career that his strategic plans and vision for UAL are far better than these vultures will have. They want to extract as much cash as possible, as soon as possible, and will bail out if they overreach and we go south. Something about the goose and golden egg.....but they have a winning exit plan to boot.
I agree with most of your post, except there was nobody running the store or we wouldn't be in this takeover position. Unfortunately, OM's plan and vision will never come to fruition if the outside group is successful in the Board takeover.

I don't know that we can give credit to Temp and OM for changing direction of the airline. For the most part that was the employees doing and their motivation was JS leaving.
