You are evaluated throughout training and after every single flight during probation. Every Capt you fly with during probation will submit an electronic eval. It's a non-event for most...just don't be "that guy/gal."
That probably is the theory; in practice, it's once per rotation (per
captain's rotation, if you fly a single rotation with multiple captains).
The format requires the captain to make remarks if he rates you below of above average--as a result, just about everyone is average. Really shine, you'll get a "plus"; really suck, you'll get "minus"; either way, it's taken in context with
all of your evals (i.e., one personality conflict resulting in a downgrade won't affect you). You have four mandatory meetings with the chief pilots during probation; reviewing your evals is one piece of what they do at those meetings.
