Having debt isn`t irresponsible. Not paying your bills, having a "bankruptsy", garnishment of wages is. The fact that most of the majors are in or have been in "bankruptsy" has nothing to do with careful hiring practices.
Where does command of the English language play into your character evaluation? Might you be one of those guys who wants to designate English as the official language of the USA too...for some reason? Don't get me wrong, that's my stance as well.
