This fueling procedure had nothing to do with safety and was crammed down our throats because of a dick measuring contest between the FAA and the Company. Any other real airline would have immediately allotted financial resources and competent administrative personnel to immediately re-write the fueling manual and prevent this bull**** procedure from being implemented in the first place as it causes delays. I think the procedure has finally been changed because it was being ignored by so many pilots and fuelers and was impossible to enforce. To all the pilots and ground personnel that ignored the procedure I salute you as you have probably made all of our lives much easier.
If the previous Mec chair had balls, he would have told the pilot group to submit an ASAP report every time the fueling procedure was violated. Also if he had balls, he would have said to make sure he would have told the crews to take care of their physiological needs and then refuel. But instead we put up with this b.s. for a long time. That's what happens when you have an Mec chair trying to get a management position.
