If it wasn't for the impending wave (tsunami) of retirements they would have already closed the PHX training center and significantly drawn down CLT. As it stands PHX will be open for at least another 3-4 years as more sims are built in DFW. Age 67 would give a couple years pause, but won't solve the problem.
I think they like having the three training centers. Having all of the training conducted in the middle of tornado alley is a recipe for crippling the airline. I don't know if I'd ever expect to have everything done at the Academy.
