PBS is definitely one of the areas where the grass isn't always greener. Mesa's PBS implementation, once I got my brain around how it worked, was leaps and bounds better than what I now have to deal with at SkyWest. SkyWest's system couldn't give a hoot about seniority and it's not nearly as flexible in terms of what you can do with your bids. Its interface is prettier, but that's the only leg it has up on the Navtech system.

That said, it drove me nuts how many PHX FO trips were "preassigned to junior bidder" (held for IOE) when I was at Mesa. If you get bumped off a trip for IOE at SkyWest, they must notify you of any reassignment within 72 hours of your original report time, otherwise you're off and pay protected for that entire trip. Much better system.

And MAGPBS was THE MAN while I was there. He was extremely helpful not just in re-rigging my bid as he regularly does for anyone, but also in answering my more complicated questions as I gained experience with the system.
