I blame all headset issues on myself. I don't own one and typically don't check to see if it is plugged in until the absolute last second in which I need it, and then I am only mildly annoyed (at myself) when I realize it's wrapped up and sitting on the oxygen bottle or the hook on the aft bulkhead.

It's the internet, people tend to exaggerate their annoyances and go out of their way to be butthurt over nothing. The cockpit is nothing like these forums.
