So I'm wondering what the airline would do in that case. This might be a question to ask a recruiter?
Envoy's cut-off class for those with an ATP written that expire July 2016 and thus not requiring the ATP-CTP is May 9th. If you enter class after that, expect to be placed in the ATP-CTP for you to take the ATP written again. The ATP-CTP class is contracted out to CAE in DFW, is one week long and usually begins two weeks prior to your class start date (you'll have one week off in between the ATP-CTP and new hire class to take the written). For Envoy, you'll be asked to commit to 2 years if you take the company-sponsored ATP-CTP and/or if you take any sign on bonus.
Other regionals' mileage may vary.
