Thanks
Two different practical tests. Practical tests can be accomplished concurrently, but everything must be covered, and it must be with agreement by the examiner or inspector. Depending on whether you're currently a flight instructor and have already covered most of the teaching, you may find an examiner amenable to you moving to the right seat and conducting the MEI ride on the same day.

The ATP and the MEI are two different animals. One is about flying the airplane, the other is about teaching others to fly the airplane. The MEI isn't a pilot checkride. It's a teacher checkride. Accomplishing the maneuvers for the ATP doesn't satisfy the demands of the MEI, in which you observe others performing maneuvers, demonstrate some yourself, identify common errors, teach sample items, provide realistic distractions, etc.

The focus between the two rides is quite different.
