I always get a chuckle when I read those types of Space Shuttle comments. You'd be amazed at how many imperfect, flawed people Delta has hired. They expect candidates to have blemishes and to have made mistakes. What they really want to see is how they responded to adversity or that they didn't fall into a pattern of repeating those mistakes.

Be human, be real and don't expect perfection out of yourself. Practice humility and empathy for your fellow co-workers. Those qualities, IMO, are looked for more in the interview process than quality of flight time.
