I bet that even with a TA, first year pay wont be over $50/hr for first year. Hopefully this contract will have DOS raises for first year pay, something we didnt have this contract.
The current pay scale hurts from top to bottom, some less/more in certain areas. But I believe money can be better spent fixing the slope vs bringing FO pay up to Legacy first year rates at DOS.
As a regional CA you are either waiting for your flow, or if there isnt a flow, you may be stuck for a while in that regional seat while all the flow/military is hired for Legacy jobs. So its not like a regional CA is deciding "Spirit or flow."
Only true flow is american which I agree theres very little chance for OTS hires after the military guys get in, DL doesn't have flow just guaranteed interviews from some regionals (all the compass guys are flowed) and UA has no flow agreement but theres something in the works for Expressjet with them, so not sure about being stuck but if you're a regional CA then American is unlikely.
