It would be in Delta's best interest to bring the VA pilots with the acquisition. Hiring 600 additional pilots, in addition to the current hiring requirements for Delta, would make bringing the VA pilots, who are current and qualified, an operational necessity.

There would be no prenuptial SLI, as it wouldn't be required. The VA pilots would defend their seniority rights as you'd expect of any pilot group. The Delta pilots would do the same. ALPA merger policy would be followed.

I think it is equally interesting that VA brings gate and market presence exactly where Delta needs it in to grow it's west coast international feed, take advantage of Mexico's open skies, and Love Field.I wouldn't say this is a "wild" rumor, perhaps more like speculation at this time.
