Thanks for the info. At WIA someone said that having a first class would help add points when the application is reviewed. I just didn't realize it was required before it can be scored. I guess I'll get mine scheduled so that if I am lucky enough to get my app scored, it will be done already.
Get the first class medical certificate and keep it current. Currency is 1-year. 6 months if you're over 40 I believe. No need to keep a 6-month currency if you're young enough. But you having the current certificate is 100% required to even qualify
