As far as staying viable/current at the unit while juggling the airline? I just hope you don't have a family to get in the way of your jobs....haha
There are ways to make it to your unit if you want during training. You can drop mil leave anytime, but really try not to during the first 90 days if you can help it. It's better if you can do guard stuff on days off anyway. If you need a little pay to supplement while staying current or doing whatever other beans for the military you need, have at it. You'll have about 1-2 weeks off for self-study after indoc, and 3-4 break during training (1-3) days each. But, in the end if you don't need to do military for your own needs, you should not worry about going non-current and catching up later.
Communicate with your unit that when you start at Delta, you'll be out of sight for about 3 months unless you can swing by. Should be fine.
