If you lose all seniority and start over, why would you start at the pay when you left?! Think about what you say before you post.
There is a difference between seniority and longevity. I know it's not really a comparison but more of an example. If I leave the Military at 10 years and come back a few years later, my pay is still at the 10 year mark when I return.
