My only point was that it used to be hard and fast that you needed 1000 TPIC whether you were Mother Theresa or not. :0 Now, that other stuff outweighs PIC and actual experience (again, most that left us for greener pastures had a ton).

Heck I remember JB was impossible to get on. You needed not only 1000 TPIC but they wanted 1000 TPIC in jets that weighed greater than 25,000 lbs! Now it's a "stepping stone" for a lot of pilots. Now we have Airbus Captains at Spirit at 25 years old and unhappy and treating that like a regional.

I'm just a guy with some observations is all. Maybe I'm talking too much on this forum lately. If so, thanks for pointing it out.
Times have changed. JB was impossible to get on with because none of the Legacy's were hiring back then. In today's hiring environment the likes of JB (for some), Spirit and Frontier have turned into stepping stones. One economic down turn and all that could change once again. Look at XO, at one point if you didn't have a good internal rec you wouldn't have gotten the job. Now you just need to find the recruiters at a job fair and make a good impression.

Regardless, we all know that the metrics for hiring at the airlines have changed and so has the process. Why wouldn't an airline want to hire someone with an advanced degree if they meet all the other requirements? Gripe all you want but it's well obvious that the airlines now value more than 1000 TPIC and several types. The link Sliceback posted as well as this thread highlights this so either you adapt or you get left behind.

Either way, judging by all your previous posts maybe this is a good time to step away from keyboard and APC all together. We're all trying to move on to bigger and better but constantly bringing up former coworkers (lets be real, you've harped about them a ton in your other posts) who have already moved on to greener pastures won't help.
